We're sorry to be the ones to have to tell you this, but if you're still running kodi 16.2 jarvis or below it's been almost a year since kodi 17.0 krypton was released, and almost two years since kodi 16.0. I upgraded a machine that had been 100% stable for over 3 years to jarvis and have had several. There is also a guide for setting up trakt in covenant and salts further down.
